Anyone who has owned a model Spitfire is sure to have suffered the attention of the local club ‘expert’. These guys can always find fault with any model Spit. But now you can get your own back by turning out with the new VMAR Spitfire 1200 EP. They will have a field day ripping this one apart…
But let them finish and then simply say, “It’s not a Spit – it’s an Isaac’s Spit!”
You can then burst their bubble by explaining that you model is far more scale than one would first think as it actually represents an Isaac’s Spitfire. This single seat homebuilt aircraft was designed by the late John Isaacs as a 6/10th scale replica of a Supermarine Spitfire. The prototype first flew on 5th May 1975.
VMAR have sensibly concluded that the same adaptations which John Isaac’s made to the Spitfire’s outline to make his aircraft easy to handle for an average private pilot would also apply to a small R/C model. Hence the large area tailplane, wide track undercarriage and the parallel chord wing with elliptical tips.
We recommend the use of VMA9G nine-gram micro servos for this model.
